Microsoft Copilot updates: New design, image editing tools and video highlights

Microsoft Copilot announced a trio of updates to its platform, including:

  • A new homepage design.
  • New inline editing of AI-generated images with Microsoft Designer integration.
  • New video highlights in Edge.

Why we care. Microsoft’s updated Copilot homepage is designed to make navigation smoother, though it might take a bit of getting used to.

Meanwhile, the new in-platform image editing features eliminate the need for another program, saving you time and possibly expense. Additionally, the new video highlights feature allows you to enhance the user experience for video viewers with minimal effort on your part.

New Copilot homepage. The platform now has a more user-friendly homepage design, along with a new carousel of suggested prompts to highlight Copilot’s capabilities.

Inline editing of AI images. Microsoft incorporated convenient one-click access design tools within Copilot, making it easier for users to customize AI-generated images without leaving the platform. The new editing capabilities allow users to enhance colors, blur backgrounds, and add filter effects effortlessly.

Video Highlights. Copilot now utilizes AI to offer video highlights, complete with timestamps, allowing viewers to skip to the specific segments they are interested in easily. This feature is compatible with both YouTube and Vimeo.

Accessibility. The new tools and features are available in English in the U.S., UK, Australia, India and New Zealand.

Free to use. Copilot is free to use and works on Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Safari. You can also download the Copilot mobile app on iOS or Android.
