What to expect at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2026

What to expect at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2026

Samsung is expected to introduce its Galaxy S26 lineup during a Galaxy Unpacked event in February 2026, following recent announcements at CES 2026.

The Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra will likely maintain a similar design to the Galaxy S25, featuring a flat front screen and frame, rounded corners, and cameras housed in a vertical pill-shaped plateau on the back. Internal components, such as screens, chips, and camera sensors, are anticipated to receive updates.

All Galaxy S26 phones are expected to include Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. Yonhap News, a Korean news site, reported that Samsung’s Exynos 2600 chip could appear in some regional models, a strategy Samsung has previously used. These chips should enhance performance, particularly in on-device AI processing for models equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

The Galaxy S26 is rumored to feature a 6.3-inch FHD+ display, slightly larger than the Galaxy S25’s 6.2-inch display, according to leaker Ice Universe. It will reportedly include 12GB of RAM, 256GB or 512GB of storage, and a 4,300mAh battery. The camera system is expected to remain unchanged from the previous generation, with a 50-megapixel main camera, 12-megapixel ultrawide, 10-megapixel 3x telephoto, and 12-megapixel selfie camera. The Galaxy S26+ will reportedly offer minor changes beyond the new Snapdragon chip, maintaining a 6.7-inch FHD+ screen, 4,900mAh battery, 12GB of RAM, and the same camera array as the base S26 model.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature slightly more raised cameras with a new metallic finish, according to Android Headlines. Samsung may revert to an aluminum frame for the S26 Ultra, shifting from the titanium frames used on the Galaxy S24 and S25 Ultras. Rumors suggest the S Pen digitizer layer will be removed to enable full Qi2 support, with a new method for stylus input under development.

Samsung is also expected to announce the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro. Leaked images from the Samsung Tips app indicate a more compact case and less angular stems. Both versions of the new Galaxy Buds are rumored to support head gestures for call management. SamMobile reports the Galaxy Buds 4 and Pro may integrate a new Ultra Wideband chip for enhanced discoverability with Google’s Find Hub network.

Further information regarding the North American availability of the Galaxy Z TriFold, announced in late 2025 and showcased at CES 2026, may be provided. The device functions as a smartphone that folds into a tablet.

The Galaxy S26 Edge is expected to remain an alternative smartphone option. Android Headlines suggests a redesigned large rectangular camera plateau, similar to Google Pixel phones, and an oval design reminiscent of the iPhone Air. The S26 Edge is also rumored to be 5.5mm thick, slightly thinner than the 5.8mm Galaxy S25 Edge.

Samsung is exploring additional AI partnerships. In June 2025, Bloomberg reported Samsung neared a deal with Perplexity to integrate its AI-powered search engine across OneUI and its mobile browser. Samsung has also accidentally announced a new version of its Bixby AI assistant, which could integrate with Perplexity and serve as an alternative to Google Gemini. Both a new Bixby and deeper Perplexity integration are anticipated software features at Galaxy Unpacked.
