Salesforce recently acquired Moonhub, an AI startup focused on talent acquisition. Details of the agreement remain undisclosed. The acquisition follows Salesforce’s recent purchase of Informatica for $8 billion and Convergence.ai.
Moonhub, based in Menlo Park, California, announced on its website that its team would join Salesforce, an early investor. Nancy Xu, Moonhub CEO, stated, “As a customer and investor, Salesforce has already played a role in Moonhub’s journey. From our earliest conversations, it [was] also clear that our companies share deep core values like customer trust, along with a resolute conviction in the role AI agents will play in unlocking an era of global innovation and opportunity. We are excited for the impact we will make together.”
Founded in 2022 by Xu, formerly of Meta, Moonhub develops tools to streamline recruitment, evaluation, and hiring. Its AI is designed to identify candidates, automate outreach, and assist with onboarding and payroll.
Moonhub secured $14.4 million in funding from Khosla Ventures, AIX Ventures, Day One Ventures, GV (formerly Google Ventures), and Salesforce, according to Crunchbase. Xu noted that Moonhub serves hundreds of customers, including Fortune 500 companies.
Xu further commented, “By joining Salesforce, we are accelerating our mission in this next chapter. Moonhub’s talented team will play a key role in advancing Salesforce’s AI strategy.”
The integration of AI in HR is expanding, despite mixed reactions. According to a Gallup poll, 93% of Fortune 500 CHROs are integrating AI tools to improve their processes.
A Salesforce spokesperson contacted TechCrunch to clarify that Moonhub has not been acquired, according to Salesforce’s definition. Moonhub is ceasing operations, and a portion of its team will be joining Salesforce.
