Robin Severance Lopez, the estranged wife of former Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez, is facing a court hearing following her arrest for conspiracy to commit racketeering.
The charge is directly linked to a major illegal gambling investigation in Central Florida, concerning the disgraced Sheriff.
As she is held on a $400,000 bond in Lake County Jail, Severance Lopez’s attorney will argue for her release, detailing that the bond funds are legitimate and unconnected to criminal activity.
As reported by News 6 Orlando, prosecutors allege Robin Severance Lopez facilitated financial transactions for the multimillion-dollar gambling operation, even offering property to secure her estranged husband’s $1 million bond amid their divorce.
Marcos Lopez bond was posted on June 26, after judicial confirmation that his funds were clean, faces two first-degree felonies: racketeering and conspiracy to commit racketeering.
He is accused of accepting hundreds of thousands in illicit payments within an organized criminal enterprise operating from August 2019 until at least August 2024.
Now suspended by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in June 2025, Lopez is one of seven individuals charged in the case.
As for his wife, Robin Severence Lopez, her hearing is scheduled for Thursday afternoon (July 3), which could see her released within hours if the judge approves her bond plan.

The probe uncovered a criminal organization operating an illegal gambling enterprise, primarily in Lake and Osceola Counties, generating over $21.6 million in illicit proceeds from 2019 to 2024.
The operation involved lotteries and slot machines, with Lopez alleged to have performed a crucial role in the plot.
He is accused of abusing his authority to shield the enterprise from law enforcement scrutiny, while evidence has been collated from WhatsApp messages, texts, and screenshots of communication with the co-defendants.
