High 5 Casino partners with geolocation firm as sweepstakes targeted

DATE POSTED:June 25, 2025

High 5 Casino and a geolocation company, Xpoint, have partnered up to prevent the company from appearing in states it shouldn’t. The operator mainly runs sweepstakes casinos, which are quickly being banned from multiple states.

Xpoint’s technology has already been integrated into multiple other sites like Bet365, with this move following suit with the contemporaries from around the gambling world. With sweepstakes now being given the boot in New York, Connecticut, and teetering on the edge of a ban in California, High 5 has to play it smart to avoid incurring government wrath.

High 5 CEO weighs in on Xpoint partnership

Speaking on the partnership, High 5 Casino’s Vice President of Product, Gino Fratto, said:

“As one of the most established gaming brands in the U.S., we take compliance incredibly seriously.

“Our players trust us not only to entertain them but to protect them, and that includes only allowing gameplay from eligible locations. After extensive due diligence, we chose to partner with Xpoint because of their deep expertise, industry leadership, and responsiveness.”

Xpoint’s CEO, Manu Gambhir, said:

“When High 5 approached us in October of last year, we were excited by the opportunity to help a social casino leader comply with state regulations related to geolocation by integrating our platform, which allows operators to determine player locations using a variety of signals and sensors while also identifying if location fraud is taking place.

“We built our platform so that operators like High 5 can choose exactly how and where they want to comply, giving them full control over their regulatory footprint. This integration was one of the fastest we’ve ever executed, demonstrating Xpoint’s ability to serve not only regulated operators but also leading social casino, sweepstakes and DFS platforms.”

Sweepstakes casinos are being eliminated from the US

Sweepstakes casinos have become a primary target within the gambling world, mostly due to states’ inability to properly regulate them. As offshore operators wade into the US market, sweepstakes casinos have become one of the sticking points due to it technically not being classed as gambling.

Dual currencies, gold and sweep coins, act as tokens, with sweep coins being used for paid money games. However, states don’t see any tax from these winnings, and they’ve become especially dangerous towards addicts thanks to the lack of protections and preventative measures in place.

This Xpoint deal is just a smart move by High 5, eliminating any chance of the firm unknowingly operating in states where they’re banned.
