There’s no rest for the AI obsessed. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang kicks off the new year with an appearance at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on Monday, where he’s scheduled to speak on Monday. Huang appears so often at events like this that it’s hard to imagine he’ll have much new to say, but you never know. After all, there’s a lot going on in the AI sector nowadays. Perhaps he’ll tell us a bit more about Nvidia’s not-quite-acquisition of its rival Groq over the Christmas holidays! On second thought, that’s doubtful.
More likely, Huang will talk about one of his favorite topics: physical AI, the movement of AI technology into the physical world through robotics and self-driving cars, among other things. Humanoid robots, generally speaking, will be a huge topic at the convention. Expect to see lots of headlines about new robots: For instance, Engadget reported over the holidays that LG plans to show off a humanoid robot for household chores. We perhaps shouldn’t take all of this too seriously. The robot market is crowded, as we’ve written about, and if history is any guide, what gets coverage at CES will never be heard of again. Still, the event is always fun.
