Caitlin Clark has been a revelation since she joined the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), and with that, a surge in sports wagering on the competition.

Highly regarded as the best three-point shooter in the WNBA, Clark is a hot favourite to top the individual betting stakes and lead her team, the Indiana Fever, to glory this time around.

After a record-setting start to her 2024 rookie season, Clark has been the most influential player in the league and took no time at all to prove it in the WNBA season opener against the Chicago Sky.

The Des Moines native racked up a triple-double in the opener with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. It was a definitive victory for the Fever as they dismantled their opponents 93-58.

Clark’s performance has put her at the head of the chasing pack for the 2025/26 running for the Most Valuable Player (MVP) title with +195 odds on most betting platforms.

A’ja Wilson (+200) has taken home the award three times, and Napheesa Collier (+250) is in the mix in third. The odds sharply climb for fourth and fifth in the betting, with Breanna Stewart at +1200 and Liberty teammate Sabrina Ionescu at +2500.

Clark has the second-most 20-point games with 10 assists in WNBA history, and this is just her second season in the league. She will certainly eclipse the current holder, Courtney Vandersloot, who has played 430 games in comparison to Clark’s 41.

BetMGM Sportsbook sports trader Hannah Luther told the Associated Press that the betting perspective has changed on the Indiana Fever after the team recruited in the offseason.

She said, “I think last season I didn’t see the Fever as too much of a threat. We lowered our odds, but we were kind of happy to take money on them because we didn’t really think they could beat the Liberty or the Lynx or the Aces, and I think this season we feel like there’s a good possibility that they could.”

A possible record-setting year for Indiana could be on the cards with the Pacers already in contention for the NBA Play-Offs as they square off against the Minnesota Timberwolves this week, and Clark is set to shoot the lights out in the WNBA.
