Jubilee Review: A Dropshipping Partner for Beauty Entrepreneurs

DATE POSTED:May 6, 2024

In this Jubilee review, I'll provide a breakdown of what it is, what its products offer, its prices, pros and cons, and more so that hopefully, by the end of this review, you'll better understand whether Jubilee is a suitable dropshipping partner for your store.

There's lots to cover, so let's jump right in!

Jubilee Review: My Bottom Line Upfront

If you don’t have time to read my entire Jubilee review, here’s a quick list of the headlines:

Jubilee is a US dropshipping marketplace offering private-label beauty and personal care products that you can sell under your own brand. Jubilee suppliers are carefully chosen and must meet a certain set of criteria and requirements before coming on board. There are 111 products, most of which are cosmetics (mascara, eyeshadow, lip gloss, etc.). Other categories include haircare and skincare. Jubilee integrates with Shopify and several dropshipping platforms, including Spocket, AliExpress, and DS. It offers four price subscriptions, including a freemium package, plus a free 14-day trial on any of the paid plans.

Overall, I think Jubilee is best for smaller dropshipping entrepreneurs looking to specialize in beauty and personal care or those with a budget large enough to add Jubilee products to their pre-existing store. For example, an apparel store looking to add beauty products that complement its brand.

What is Jubilee?

Launched in September 2022 by Innovation Labs, Jubilee is a US-based private label dropshipping marketplace offering products you can sell under your own cosmetic and skincare brand.

Products are shipped from the US and Canada and sourced from suppliers in those countries, as well as the UK, China, Italy, and Spain. However, at the time of writing, Jubilee products can only be shipped to US customers

Jubilee allows you to customize product packaging to fit your brand, such as printing your logo and including branded invoices.

It’s also worth noting that Jubilee fully integrates with Shopify and is available via its website or the Shopify app store. This empowers you to quickly source and sell products via your online shop, Facebook, and Instagram, as well as advertise on Google Ads, etc.

Lastly, Jubilee also works with various apps, including Spocket, Modalyst, Glow Road, Shein, AliExpress, USAdrop, DS, Oberloo, and more.

Jubilee Review: How to Use Jubilee and Find Products

You can browse Jubilee products by typing your name and email address into Jubilee’s website. You’re then instantly taken to the Jubilee dashboard, from which you can view all the product categories and manage your store and orders (once you’ve connected your store and chosen a paid plan).

It’s free to browse the product catalog, but you can’t add products to a product import list.

If you already have a Shopify store, a popup will appear when you input your name and email address. You can type in your Shopify store URL, which instantly connects your store to Jubilee.

If you don’t have a Shopify store, there’s a “Try for free” button in the aforementioned popup. Just click that, and it will take you straight to the Shopify website, from which, at the time of writing, you can enjoy a free 3-day trial plus three months for $1 a month

When you first sign up to Jubilee and link your Shopify store/Shopify free trial store URL, you will receive an email that states: “Spocket welcomes you to Shopify!” suggesting that Jubilee is a Spocket tool.

Once you’re set up with a free trial or connected your pre-existing Shopify store, you can view your Jubilee dashboard (more about this below).

Taking a look at the products, these fall into the following categories:

Body: A small selection of all-natural, vegan, and cruelty-free products, including face and body moisturizers containing vitamin E, Argan oil, Jojoba oil, honeysuckle, coconut oil, or sweet almond oil.  Skincare: Mostly natural products, including vitamin boost serum, foaming facial cleanser, moisturizer, toner, and anti-aging cream  Haircare: A small selection of hair products, including growth oil, stimulating shampoo, stimulating conditioner, and growth oil for men.  Cosmetics: This is by far the largest selection of products offered. These include foundation, lip gloss, bronzer powder, highlighter, and much more. They all come in a range of colors.  Eye makeup: There’s a small selection of eye makeup, including eyeshadow palettes in a choice of colors and eyebrow pencils.  Accessories: This includes makeup remover and makeup setting spray.

Click on the product you’re interested in to see:

Its price (what you pay for it) The suggested dropshipping price (I.e., what you could sell the item for on your online store)- you can amend this. What your profit will be The number of that item currently in stock The order processing time The shipping time and cost Product details, including a complete list of ingredients, which you can edit. The supplier’s name and location

You can filter products to view only premium and/or dropship branded ones. The Jubilee product catalog marks some products as “premium” because these are “exclusive” to Jubilee and they have “high margins and fast shipping.”

It’s important to note that the product prices you see do NOT include shipping costs. So, you must add shipping costs to your retail price so the customer pays all expenses. As a rule, shipping costs are around $5-$10 for cosmetics, a $5 flat fee for skin care, and a $1 incremental fee (an additional cost added for an extra quantity of products).

Some Jubilee suppliers, like MB Cosmetics, impose minimum order quantities; in this instance, they require:

For sample orders, you have to order at least five products.

In contrast, when placing orders for your Shopify orders, it’s as follows:

A minimum of three units per SKU Minimum total order of $170 A flat $15 set-up fee per order (included in the $170)

Unfortunately, the Jubilee product catalog doesn’t allow you to filter products by supplier or see a list of suppliers. So it’s a case of just searching through and hoping you find a supplier that doesn’t have a minimum order rule.

It’s worth noting that at the time of writing, there are references to other beauty products on the Jubilee homepage (makeup brushes and fragrances), but these were actually not available when searching the product catalog.

Jubilee Dashboard

From the Jubilee dashboard, you can see the product catalog and manage your store.

However, you can’t import products to a free trial Shopify store. Instead, you have to be a Shopify and Jubilee-paying customer to do that.

Your dashboard has a left-side menu from which you can view all the products you’ve added to your import list (that you’ll push to your Shopify store).

When a shopper orders from your store, it automatically syncs to your Jubilee account for your supplier to fulfill and send to your customer.

You can also view details of all your Shopify orders and sample orders. These include:

Product title Product price Quantity of products ordered Shipping cost

Lastly, when you click “branding” in the left-side menu, you’re taken to a branding and invoicing customization page.

From here, you can add your branding to each product:

Your brand name  Your brand logo  Choose from one of 20 fonts Details of where your product is being distributed from

You can also brand invoices by adding your:

Store name Email address Brand logo Store URL A personalized message from you to be included on the invoice

You can preview your branded invoice before committing to how it looks. However, you can’t do this unless you’re signed up for the appropriate pricing plan (see below).

Jubilee Suppliers

Jubilee has a series of requirements and criteria suppliers must meet before coming on board. These include offering a minimum of 25% off their retail price and a white-label service.

Jubilee is keen to emphasize that its supplier list is an “exclusive curated group,” and all suppliers undergo an application process.

Jubilee Review: Prices

There are four plans, and the Jubilee website tells us that pricing is “simple” with “no hidden fees.”

Plans are as follows:

Basic: Free Starter: $39/mo or $12/mo if you pay yearly Pro: $49/mo or 20/mo if you pay yearly, with this being the most popular plan Empire: $99/mo or $42/mo if you pay yearly

Each of the paid plans offers a free 14-day trial.

Taking each in turn:

Basic:

This includes:

Access to the browsing catalog Starter

This unlocks access to:

25 unique products Personalized branding Branded invoicing Pro

This includes everything in the Starter and Basic plans and:

100 unique products 25 premium products Product image background filters VIP chat support Empire

This includes everything in the above plans, and you can list:

Unlimited unique products Unlimited premium products

If you want to cancel your subscription, head to your Jubilee dashboard, click “Settings,” and then “Cancel plan.” Under the terms of Jubilee’s subscription policy, when you’re on a free 14-day trial of your chosen plan, once that trial ends, you’ll be charged.

Jubilee Review: Pros and Cons Pros There’s a free 14-day trial. Products are mostly described as natural.  Jubilee offers white labeling. The help center has useful and understandable blogs on a range of topics You can order (unbranded) samples It’s quick and easy to sign up and use Cons There aren’t many products to choose from (a total of just 111 across all categories), but you could add more products via Jubilee’s dropshipping platform integrations. However, this can involve further costs. For example, Spocket, offers bath and beauty products, with costs starting from $39.99 a month or $24 a month paid yearly.  You only gain access to premium products on the two most expensive plans. The website is light on detail. Jubilee Review: Support and Reviews

Jubilee offers live chat support across all its plans. You can also email the support team with questions. However, Pro and Empire plan subscribers have access to VIP chat support.

In addition, there’s the Jubilee help center, which presents a series of FAQs on topics including getting started, using Jubilee, order processing, Shopify integration, and more.

Shopify users give Jubilee an overall rating of 4.6 out of 5. They like the custom branding tools, simple product set-up, fast shipping, and sample ordering.

Those who like it less say it’s because they violated the subscription cancellation rules and assumed that by uninstalling the app, they would not be charged. In addition, some users complain there aren’t enough products available via Jubilee.

Jubilee Review: My Final Thoughts

So, that brings us to the end of my Jubilee review, hopefully, you now have a better understanding of what this beauty dropshipping platform could do for your business.

I like that you can add your own branding to product labels, and it’s promising that Shopify users clearly like it; even though it hasn’t been around that long, it’s already racked up some positive feedback. Also, it’s quick to link your Shopify store, easy to browse the product catalog, and the dashboard is intuitive.

My main concern is that I would like Jubilee to offer more products. But, overall, I don’t think it’s a bad choice for dropshippers who already have a Shopify store (or are committed to launching one) and want to enter the beauty world with a curated set of white-label products.

Are you considering trying Jubilee, or do you just want to browse its product catalog to see if it’s worth the investment? Either way, let us know in the comments below.
